The act of riding is a form of meditation.because the concentration thats required to safely ride a motorcycle tends to focus the mind in a way that eliminates other mental distractions that might interfere with the mission. This creates a single mindedness that in effect displaces the continuous stream of thoughts that normaly flow through our consciousness.......

Re: Tylers 2008 CBR 1000rr

Thanks Mike!!

And thanks Cisco, i figured when i saw you pull out your cam that these would turn up haha. i just ordered a sweet undertail and im looking for frame sliders as we speak.

its a bad ass bike as far as i can tell. turns better and more confidently than the gixxer but with the power that only comes from a liter. cant wait to get it broken in and get your guy's opinion of it.

And how long untill you take it on a track day is what i want to know! With todays liter bikes being so closely matched... I cant imagine anyones opinion being anythingbut stellar!

Re: Tylers 2008 CBR 1000rr

Before I bought my Buell I almost bought that exact same bike rite down to the color. What killed me was insurance, the cheapest quote I could get was for $6,000 a year.  Well,  nice bike and enjoy.

Re: Tylers 2008 CBR 1000rr

yeah thanks, i havent called the insurance company yet ahahahhahaha.

@ mike: this bike will not see the track until i have a replacement street bike, which isnt in the cards for a few years. thats what the gixxer 750 track bike is for. ill start a thread with my pictures and progress of the build on that project. already have all the body work and all the parts, now i just need to re-tap the engine bolt holes with the helicoil kit i bought, and i can start mounting body work.

.

If it makes you feel better I got that quote when I was 21 and I had just gotten my M-1 endorsement. So I fell into the (dumb ass)  category despite my good grades and spotless driving record. I dont regret any of this though cuz had it not happened I would have never have gotten the Buell.

Re: Tylers 2008 CBR 1000rr

1650 per year full coverage/comprehensive, 1000 deductible. that is from geico, who i already had 3 years of motorcycle insurance with.

im pretty freaking happy with geico, for the record, and 137 a month isnt too bad in my opinion.

Re: Tylers 2008 CBR 1000rr

@ Brett: i paid 10 out the door, with a 5 year warranty. i had 5 cash, so i only financed 5, and got .99% interest for the life of the loan. it came with bridgestone BT-015 tires on it. this is the tire that is being replaced by the bridgestone -016

@Matt: yeah my gixxer was about 80 a month with the 1000 deductible. i expected it to go up, im fine with the rate and after the way geico handled the gixxer claim, i love em.
