In The Beginning

Back

This was one of those projects that found me. While looking over a 1973 Jaguar with a 350 conversion as a potential purchase, I spotted this parted F2 off in a corner and inquired about its status. The front end was missing due to a crash. The forks and front wheel were good but used on another bike. A quick run to grab my trailer and $750 cash got me started.

The start of my F2 Project

A little research and some time on eBay produced all the parts I needed. It turns out the 94 model is a unique year of the F2. It used more aluminum around the bike where previous years had steel (like the footpeg mounts), it came with preload/rebound adjustable cartridge style front suspension and preload/rebound/compression rear suspension with remote reservoir.

Ebay:
Chrome 94 Forks (all I could find) - $160
Red Rims (couldnt find black front) - $110
Complete Front Dual Caliper/Master Assebly- $60
Front Fender - $15
Front Plastic Headlight - $30
Front Fiberglass Fairing - $250
Front Tinted Windscreen - $30
Guage Cluster - $40
Speedometer Cable - $10
Mirrors - $20

With a total of about $700 invested in parts, I was up to $1600 for the whole project. The outcome was pretty good as shown below:
