The biggest consideration in my mind over this project was the guage cluster. While the stock fairing stay can easily be coverted to the F2 frame with a couple of small offset plates, the use of the F4i guage cluster does not support the front wheel speedometer cable that the F2 uses. Someone converting from an F3 will find this part easier as the speedometer is driven from the engine instead of the front wheel. Where the F2 system shines is in it never needs recalibration upon gear changes and remains extremely accurate. This required me to fabricate my own front stay, out of aluminum to save weight and also mounts the front end to the bike. Making the Stay was not nearly as hard as getting it aligned properly. It took quite few hours of lining up the front fairing so it didnt sit too high and trimming the cluster to clear the stay, the fairing and the handlebar accessories on lock to lock. There is just barely enough room to make it all come together well. The end result is a fully functional retro style cluster.
