I am a big fan of adjustability, and with so much changing on the car all the time I just wasnt ready to commit to a fixed front spring. The previous owner had retrofitted the front with stock replacement spriings which eventually began to sag. I cut them down and installed these coil spring spacers. the result is a firmer ride from the cut spring and a nice perfectly adjusted height from the adjustable spacers
While I dont have a picture of them on yet, I opted for the QA1 adjustable front shocks. What an amazing improvement to the handling on the car. Firm with good feedback and excellent response. It feels tamed in the most wicked of circumstances. I finished the fron end up with a 3rd gen power steering box from a z28. Not only was it a direct bolt on but the quick steering ratio made of less that 3 turns lock to lock. Again, feedback was very good wihtout being heavy. The turning radius is insanely tight as well and makes the car feel smaller. I initially added a set of lift bars so as to keep the back end planted. While there was a dragstrip in town it helped to push the car from 0-60 in 5.2 seconds with a 1/4 mile of 13 s flat... on an open diff. It handled like it had too stiff of a rear anti swaybar but if not aggressive could still corner well. Just dont touch the throttle uintil you were straight.
It also had good ground clearance as the muffler is still the lowest hanging item.
The car came to me with subframe connectors. They are bolted to the frame and will frequently luift a tire on severely uneven ground with the lift bars
Again, no ground clearance was compromised.
Overall, the bottom is pretty even but a lift of the exhaust could potentially allow for more levleing of the back end.
