With the desire to build more torque from the same small block package while maintaining longevity, driveability and much of the already purchased performance items, Brett took the stroker aproach with a newer style roller block. With limited room between the strut towers and hood, options were limited and had to be selected with care. Not only did it build more torque but the increased flow and improved geometry gave it more horsepower to boot.
The engine block is of the early 90's roller design which retained the same external mounting asthe original 68 302.

After plugging in all the data, the 327 rolls out 372 ft lbs of torque at 4500 rpm and 354 hp at 5500 rpm. Looking at the graph you can see how smooth the power band is, a direct relation to its ideal rod ratio. |
