2001 Aprilia Falco Body

Body
Not something you might typically review on a bike but this one deserves taking notice. The body panels are shaped beautifully and fit very well. The quality of the finish is very good and regularly draws attention. The body lines flow well and do create a great amount of function to compliment  the look.

While I like the semi naked look of the Falco, something about the exposed exhaust always left the bike looking unfinished. I opted to add a lower fairing which I feel really completes the overall sporty look of the bike. The fairing is fiberglass and created by Airtech-Streamlining. Out of the box it needed a little work to fit correctly, including some creative cutting of the pan. The good news is that it clears the stock exhaust at the edges and does not drag on the ground as other pans I have researched have issues with.

The tank is made from a high impact plastic rather than steel which helps to reduce weight. The tail has an extraordinary amount of storage space and allows easy access. The front fairing provides plent of wind protection whil allowing just a little to the head and upper shoulders for cooling on hot days. The stock double bubble windscreen is easy to tuck all the way behind while stiff offering good visibilty. The ram ir is discreetly guided between the twinspar frame and the radiators path just under the knees. Occationally you will catch some heat from them but nothing too extreme.
Carbon Fiber is quickly becoming my replacement part of choice. It is light weight, strong and looks great. The rear Mille Swingarm equipped on my Falco has a Carbon Fiber hugger and chain guard. The Carbon Fiber exhaust hangs on both sides and a Carbon Fiber License plate frame braces the undertail eliminator and turn signal mount.
